Description
Although the 2017 already tastes terrific
in essence
There is impressive density of material to the nicely delineated middle weight flavors that offer very good volume on the suave and round finish that exudes a lovely minerality
a confidence that the results in bottle more than bear out
The terroir is iron-rich
Col d'Orcia, Brunello Montalcino Riserva Poggio Vento Size:6x750ml Although the 2017 already tastesThe Col d'Orcia 2004 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Poggio al Vento exhibits a dark appearance. You get eucalyptus, medicinal herb and cherry cola. There is dark fruit, but that herbal note is what appears with the greatest intensity at this time. Firm tannins serve to give more definition to the palate, and the wine shows depth and an angular structure. I also appreciate that salty mineral note on the close.
